Art Gallery Víngarðurin

Ever since the Art Gallery Víngarðurin opened in 2019, it has focused on exhibiting and selling Nordic modern art of the utmost quality with focus on the Faroese pictorial art. With a high level of quality, a variety of individual and group exhibitions of progressive and more traditional art, our objective is to expand the public’s horizon. In spite of the gallery’s cozy and intimate surroundings located in a wine bar, our ambitions are high. We enlarge the intimate square metres with artist talks, literature events, lectures on art history and more; moreover, we offer custumized events for both large and small groups looking for a cultural experience along with, or before, a good Wine-and-Dine experience.

Apart from being the manager of the Art Gallery Víngarðurin, Kinna Poulsen is also the curator and presenter of the gallery’s art exhibitions. She is passionate, has great experience and an in-depth knowledge about Faroese art; furthermore, she has what a reviewer wrote: “hænderne dybt nede i den lokale og internationale kunstscene fra basen i Tórshavn”. (English translation: “she has her hands deeply imbedded in the local and international art scene from her base in Tórshavn”). Apart from her job curating exhibitions in Tórshavn and internationally, she has been an active reviewer since 1996 with many publications about pictorial art.

The Art Gallery Víngarðurin has exhibitions that include works by: Hansina Iversen, Carl Jóhan Jensen, Randi Samsonsen, Jóhan Martin Christiansen, Steinprent, Tóroddur Poulsen, Silja Strøm, Fríða Matras Brekku, Bárður Jákupsson, Torbjørn Olsen, Zacharias Heinesen, Hanni Bjartalíð, Anna Malan Jógvansdóttir, Frits Johannesen, Anna Seppåla, and Jón Sonni Jensen
